All petunias want to be rose colored – that is sort of the natural color of the wild petunia.  Breeders have spent years developing all the other flower colors – with yellow being the hardest color to make.  When we saw this Lemon Zest – we just stopped dead in our tracks – it is a GREAT color. It is bright – the petunia holds the flowers up where we can see all the color – we really like this flower!  And it is yellow!

So – 2 things to do with Lemon Zest – first plant this flower as a highlight plant because it will pop in your landscape with a bright yellow – sort of like a highlight pen will pop on a printed page. Plant it in clusters or by itself – just dial up the color.

Second – like all petunias Lemon Zest is a hungry.  We find petunias like about twice the plant food of other flowers.  So make sure it is well fertilized and when in doubt – feed.
